KARL MAYER together with A.T.E. achieves customer proximity despite social distancing in India

A.T.E.’s Fabric Forming team – Mr Apurva Jariwala, Mr Vikas Sharma, Mr Dinesh Abbi, Mr M Rajinikanth and Mr Navin Agrawal – along with KARL MAYER, have so far organised a total of nine webinars which were attended by leading warp knitting customers from Surat, Silvassa, Mumbai, Karur, Delhi and Amritsar.

Additionally, the KARL MAYER Academy has gone online in order to provide customers with the necessary know-how even in times of coronavirus-caused travel restrictions. KARL MAYER Academy offers webinars lasting one hour and intended for not more than six to eight participants, because it relies on dialogue.

“We don’t want any formal teaching but interaction. In this way, we can better answer individual questions and support the development of new ideas.” explains Robert Kuna, who has developed KARL MAYER’s e-training concept. Thanks to the close cooperation of all parties involved, KARL MAYER hopes to get ideas for future webinars. In addition to imparting basic knowledge of warp knitting, such short sessions with smaller groups will allow customers to acquire special know-how that is meant to further support them. Especially now, when many warp knitting mills have enough time to train their employees, KARL MAYER says.

The new webinar series was successfully started by Roland Bämpfer in mid-May 2020. Via video, Indian customers received a detailed description of the possibilities of producing fabrics suitable for making every day face masks.
KARL MAYER explains that for many companies, the production of urgently needed sanitary items represents an exception from the nationwide corona shutdown. Regarding the content of the online events, Roland Bämpfer says: “With the participants, I discuss different lapping techniques and suitable yarns for the commonly used tricot machines in India. In this way, everyone can produce those articles that are most suitable for his business.”

Further webinars are being prepared. More information about this issue, registrations and suggestions on topics can be obtained from the KARL MAYER Academy via its e-mail address academy@karlmayer.com

In addition to webinars with flexible content, from next year onwards, KARL MAYER will also offer online training courses, to support courses that the KARL MAYER Academy already offers. The new offerings should contribute to increased efficiency in know-how transfer.
